American actor Billy Warlock first came to the attention of public with
his one season turn as Leopold 'Flip' Phillips in the television sitcom
“Happy Days” (1982-1983) before achieving fame among soap
opera fans for his portrayal of Frankie Brady on NBC's “Days of
our Lives,” a role he played from July 1986 to October 1988, from
November 1990 to July 1991 and from June 26, 2005 to November 24, 2006.
He won a 1988 Daytime Emmy Award for his performance in the show. From
1989 to 1992, he gained additional attention as lifeguard Eddie Kramer
on the original three seasons of “Baywatch.” He also
reprised the role in the reunion TV film in 2003. The dark brown
haired, hazel eyed actor also played A.J. Quartermaine on ABC's
“General Hospital” (1997-2003, 2005), Ben Hollander in
CBS's “The Young and the Restless” (2007-2008), Anthony
Blackthorn in CBS's “As the World Turns” (2010) and Ross
Rayburn on ABC's “One Life to Live” (2010).
Warlock has been married twice. His first marriage to Marcy Walker
lasted for two years (1985-1987). Currently, he is married to
ex-“Days of Our Lives” co-star Julie Pinson. Prior to
marrying Pinson, he was engaged to former “Baywatch”
co-star Erika Eleniak in 1993 and then to Tolan Clark during Christmas
2002.
Warlock is big animal lover. He has two cats called Huckleberry and
Bella, and a dog called Eddie, which he got from an animal shelter. He
enjoys skiing, playing golf and watching such sports as football,
basketball, golf and boxing. His other interests include swimming,
reading, practicing Italian and TIVO. Mr. Warlock can play the
guitar.
William Alan Leming
Childhood and Family:
Billy Warlock was born William Alan Leming on March 26, 1961, in
Gardena, California. He is the son of American actor and stuntman Dick
Warlock (born February 5, 1940). His father was personal stunt double
of Kurt Russell for more than 25 years. Billy has a brother named
Lance and a sister named Rhonda. He graduated from Birmingham High
School in Van Nuys, California in 1979.
On November 2, 1985, Billy was married to soap opera actress Marcy
Walker (born November 26, 1961), but they later divorced in 1987. In
1999, he was engaged to soap actress Julie Pinson, but they later split
up. The couple rekindled their romance in 2006 and married in Las Vegas
on August 26, 2006. Billy recalled, “I had asked (Executive
Producer of “Days Of Our Lives”) Ken Corday to let me go
several times. Since Missy and Matt were leaving “Days,” it
was perfect timing. It all happened for a reason. If I hadn’t
come back to the show, Julie Pinson and I wouldn’t have gotten
back together and gotten married!”
Baywatch
Career:
After high school, with his father's help, Billy Warlock got his first
taste of showbiz as a stunt double for Robin Williams in an episode of
the television series “Mork & Mandy” called
“Dueling Skates” (1980), which was produced by Gary
Marshall. In the following year, he made his first feature film
appearance as boy in beach in the David Sheldon directed “Lovely
But Deadly,” starring Lucinda Dooling, John Randolph and Mel
Novak, before appearing together with his father Dick Warlock in the
slasher movie sequel, “Halloween II” (1981), directed by
Rick Rosenthal and starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence. The
father and son played the roles of Michael Myers and Craig,
respectively, in the film.
Warlock's first big break arrived when he audition for Marshall and
earned his first major television role as Leopold 'Flip' Phillips,
Roger's rebellious younger brother, on the ABC sitcom “Happy
Days.” He was on the show during its 10th season between 1982 and
1983.
While working on the show, Warlock was cast as Duffy Akins in his
television movie debut, “Six Pack,” starring Don Johnson,
Markie Post and Jennifer Runyon, and played Craig Foster in an episode
of “ ABC Afterschool Specials” called “But It's Not
My Fault” (both 1983). Later that same year, he appeared in an
episode of “Lottery!” called “Los Angeles: Bigger
Volume.”
Warlock entered the soap opera kingdom when he landed the role of Ricky
Driscoll on CBS's “Capitol,”created by Stephen and Elinor
Karpf. He kept the role during 1984-1985. In 1986, he appeared in an
episode of “Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color” titled
“2 1/2 Dads,” as Danny Selzer. However, he did not enjoy
true success until he joined the popular NBC daytime soap “Days
of our Lives” in July 1986 in the role of Frankie Brady. He was
nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Leading Man in a
Drama Series in 1987 and won the award later in 1988. However, he quit
the show in October 1988.
Meanwhile, in 1987, Warlock returned to films with an important role as Vinnie Fortino
in the drama “Hotshot,” opposite Jim Youngs and Pelé
, and also appeared in a pilot episode of “Rags to Riches.”
He went on to play the lead role of Bill Whitney in the comedy/horror
film “Society,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival
on May 13, 1989 and was released in the US in June 1992. 1989 also saw
him play Chris and Sam McBride in the television films
“Swimsuit” and “Class Cruise,”
respectively, as well as Ron Greenwood in an episode of “21 Jump
Street.”
Warlock's next big break arrived when he was cast as lifeguard Eddie
Kramer in “Baywatch,” a role he had from the beginning, in
1989, to 1992. Between November 1990 and July 1991, he returned to
“Days” as Frankie Brady.
After “Baywatch,” Warlock starred along with Nestor
Serrano and Don Michael Paul in the short lived crime/drama series
“The Hat Squad,” which ran on CBS from September 1992 to
January 1993. In 1994, he portrayed Lyle Menendez in the made for
television film “Honor Thy Father and Mother: The True Story of
the Menendez Murders,” opposite James Farentino and Jill
Clayburgh, and also made guest appearance in “Silk
Stalkings” (Episode: “Judas Kiss,” as Brent). In the
following year, he made guest appearances in “Maker” (as
Shawn) and “ NYPD Blue” (as Mike Barnett) and portaryed
Payton Bach in the short “ Mr. Payback: An Interactive
Movie.” The actor reprised his role as Eddie Kramer in a
1996 episode of “Baywatch Nights” called
“Backup.” The same year, he also portrayed F.A.
Matt Eisenhauer in the TV movie “Panic in the Skies!.”
Warlock joined the cast of the popular ABC daytime drama “General
Hospital” in the role of A. J. Quartermaine, the son of the
affluent Dr. Alan and Dr. Monica Quartermaine, replacing actor Sean
Kanan, who left the show in June 1997. He played the role from June 13,
1997 to December 11, 2003, and for several visits in 2005 from February
4 to 11 when his character was presumed dead and
from March 15 to April 26, 2005 when his character was
actually murdered in his hospital room by Dr. Asher Thomas after
he kidnapped his biological son, Michael Corinthos.
During his tenure on “GH,” Warlock also took other side
jobs. He played Bryant Donatello in the film “Opposite
Corners” (1997), directed by Louis D'Esposito, co-starred with
Gary Busey and Billy Dee Williams in the action movie “Steel
Sharks” (1997), helmed by Rodney McDonald, and was featured as
Derek Shaw in “Diagnosis Murder”'s episode “Trash TV
Part One and Two” (1999). In 2003, he again played Eddie Kramer
in the reunion TV film “Baywatch: Hawaiian
Wedding.”
In 2004, Warlock starred as Captain Jack Griffin in the direct to video
horror/thriller movie “The Thing Below,” directed by Jim
Wynorski. The same year, he made his stage debut in the play “The
Normal Heart,” in which he portrayed Felix, a news reporter with
AIDS. The actor reprised his role as Frankie in “Days of Our
Lives” from June 2005 until November 2006. He was cast alongside
Lacey Chabert, John Doman and Lauren Holly in the drama/thriller
movie“Fatwa” (2006).
Warlock appeared as Ben Hollander, the campaign manager of Jack Abbott,
on the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from May
7, 2007 until January 10, 2008. In 2009, he made a guest appearance in
“Damages” and appeared as Boss in the short film “
Hatchet Man.”
From July 6 to August 25, 2010, Warlock portrayed Anthony Blackthorn in
the CBS soap opera “As the World Turns.” He went on to play
Ross Rayburn on “One Life to Live” from August 27 until
October 8, 2010.
In late 2011, Warlock completed filming a starring role in a short film called “Discedo.”
