Background:
Charli Baltimore is a Grammy Award nominated hip hop singer and
occasional actress. Since 1998, she has released several singles,
including “Money,” “Stand Up,”
“Diary,” from which she received her Grammy nomination,
“Lose It,” “Come Test Us” and “Machine
Gun (Remix).” Her new single, “All Lies,” was
released to iTunes on May 8, 2012. Baltimore has made appearances in Ja
Rule tracks “Down Ass Bitch” and “Last
Temptation,” as well as in songs like “Down 4 U,”
“We Still Don't Give a F**k” and “Nobody Does It
Better” from Irv Gotti Presents The Inc., and the Christina
Milian track “Spending Time,” among others. As an actress,
Baltimore has appeared on such films as “Bamboozled”
(2000), “Snipes” (2001), “Crime Partners”
(2003) and “Changing the Game” (2012).
Baltimore is the mother of two. She has been romantically linked
to B.I.G., Lance “Un” Riviera and Jay-Z. She is a
certified paralegal.

Childhood and Family:
Born Tiffany Lane on August 16, 1974, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to
an African-American mother and a German father, Charli Baltimore took
her pseudonym from Geena Davis' character in the 1996 film “The
Long Kiss Goodnight.” She was raised primarily by her elder half
sister, Yolanda, and graduated from Pierce College. Charli has two
daughters, India and Sianni. She gave birth to her first child when she
was 14 years old.

Career:
Charli Baltimore was introduced to Lance “Un” Rivera by her
then lover The Notorious B.I.G., whom she had met at a concert in the
summer of 1995, and then signed to Rivera's new label, Untertainment,
along with Cam'ron. It was not long before Baltimore made her first
appearance in the music business with Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s
platinum hit, “Get Money,” playing The Notorious B.I.G's
then wife Faith Evans. Her first single, “Money,” reached
No. 50 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles. The song was featured on the
soundtrack of the film “Woo” (1998), which peaked at No. 52
on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Baltimore released her second single “Feel It” in 1998. The
same year, she also guested in Cam'ron's debut album
“Confessions of Fire” in the song “Me & My
Boo” and in Fat Joe's third album “Don Cartagena” in
the track “Walk On By.” A long with Big Pun, Silkk the
Shocker and Wyclef Jean, she also appeared in Cam'ron's “Horse
& Carriage(Remix)”.
Baltimore collaborated with producers Lance “Un” Rivera, DJ
Premier, Ross Prentice, Teddy Riley, John Forté, and RZA as well
as artists like Ghostface Killah, Da Brat, Lady of Rage, Gangsta Boo,
Mobb Deep, Cam'ron, N.O.R.E. for her debut album, “Cold as
Ice.” Originally titled “To Hell & Back” with a
release date of April 28, 1999, the album was delayed for a year
because of creative differences and was shelved in 1999. On August 3,
1999, “Cold as Ice” was eventually released promotionally
through Epic Records. However, since it was not actually made available
to the general public, the album did not make it to any Billboard
charts. Its single “Stand Up” managed to peak at No. 9 on
the Billboard Hot Rap Singles.
Following the postponement of her album, Baltimore quit her label, and
did some modeling in Los Angeles before returning to rap. She also
posed nude for “Trace” magazine. Baltimore made her big
screen debut in the Spike Lee comedy/drama “Bamboozled”
(2000), where she played the role of Mau Mau: Smooth Blak. She also
appeared on the “Bamboozled” soundtrack singing on the
track “Charlie” solely and in the first track “Blak
Iz Blak” along with Mos Def, Canibus, MC Serch, Mums, Gano Grills
and DJ Scratch.
After “Bamboozled,” Baltomore had a supporting role as Trix
in the drama/thriller “Snipes” (2001), starring Sam Jones
III, Nelly and Zoe Saldana, and a bit part in the crime movie
“Crime Partners” (2003), starring Tyrin Turner, John 'B.J.'
Bryant and Clifton Powell. In between the films, she was featured on
“Spending Time,” a track from Christina Milian's
self-titled debut album (2001), and performed on three tracks on The
Inc. Records compilation album “Irv Gotti Presents: The
Inc.” (2002), including the lead single “Down 4 U”
(also with Ja Rule, Ashanti and Vita). The single became a huge
hit on the Billboard charts during the summer of 2002 by reaching
No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on both the R&B and
rap charts. Besides, she was featured on Ja Rule's single “Down
Ass Bitch” (2002), which peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot
100, No. 8 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and No. 5 on the
Hot Rap Songs, as well as in “Irv Gotti Presents: The
Remixes'” “'m So Happy (Remix)” and Ja Rule's
“The Last Temptation”'s “Last
Temptation.” Baltimore released three singles in 2002: “Hey
Charli,” “Nobody Does It Better” (featuring Ashanti)
and “Diary,” which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best
Female Rap Solo Performance.
Baltimore, who had signed with The Inc. Records since 2001, decided to
leave the label in 2003 following constant album delays. In 2006,
she became involved with The Game and The Black Wall Street
Record. Though she was never signed to the label, she appeared on
mixtapes with the rest of the Black Wall Street dissing 50 Cent and his
G-Unit.
In 2007, Baltimore appeared in Mýa's album
“Liberation” in the song “I Am.” She resigned
with The Inc. Records in the following year, and started working on an
album called “True Lies” (formerly “Controlling
Charli”). Baltimore launched an EP on iTunes featuring
“Lose It,” “P.S.” and “Come Test
Us” (with Lil Wayne). In 2011, she was featured in the music
video “If I Die Tonight” with Lue Diamonds and Trey Songz
and performed “Machine Gun (Remix)” with Sally Anthony,
which is available on iTune.
Baltimore's album “True Lies” is scheduled to be released
on June 19, 2012. Her new single, “All Lies” (featuring
Maino), was released to iTunes on May 8, 2012. Baltimore returned
to features with a part in Rel Dowdell's action movie, “Changing
the Game,” which was released on May 11, 2012. the film starred
Tony Todd, Sticky Fingaz and Raw Leiba.
