Background:
Dane Christensen appeared in the Mike Binder movie “The Upside of
Anger” (2005), along with his much famous older sister Erika
Christensen. He also starred in the television pilot “Murphy's
Dozen” (2001), opposite his twin brother, Brando.
Twin
Childhood and Family:
Dane Christensen was born on June 2, 1986, in Seattle, Washington, to
parents Kathy, a construction manager, and Steven, an insurance
worker/human-resources executive. He is the younger brother of actress
Erika Christensen (born August 19, 1982). He has a twin brother named
Brando.
Murphy's Dozen
Career:
Dane Christensen worked in commercials, television and film as an
infant and young child. At age 15, he was cast in the starring role of
Michael Murphy in the New Line/ Warner Brothers pilot “Murphy's
Dozen” (2001), which was directed and co-written by Gavin
O'Conner. Co-stars in the show included his twin, Brando, Kathy Baker,
A.J. Buckley, Margo Harshman, Danielle Savre and Jeremy Sumpter.
In 2005, Dane played the role of Gorden Reiner on the comedy/drama film
“The Upside of Anger,” starring Joan Allen, Kevin Costner,
Evan Rachel Wood, Keri Russell, Alicia Witt and his sister, Erika
Christensen. Written and directed by Mike Binder, the film grossed over
$28 million against a production budget of $12 million. It won a
Chicago Film Critics Association for Best Actress (Allen) and a San
Francisco Film Critics Circle for Best Supporting Actor (Costner) and
was nominated for an Online Film Critics Society Award for Best
Actress (Allen) and Satellite Awards for Best Musical or Comedy Actor
(Costner) and Best Musical or Comedy Actress (Allen).
Until recently, Dane has concentrated on his academic and sports
endeavors. He currently resides in Los Angeles and is pursuing a career
in acting.
