This darkly handsome performer is best known as the beefiest of the seemingly endless stream of acting Baldwin brothers emanating from Long Island, New York. Although not as high-profile as elder brother Alec and younger siblings William and Stephen, Baldwin has compiled a respectable resume since his debut in an NBC TV-movie, "Too Good to Be True" (1988). Supporting stars ranging from Tom Selleck ("Quigley Down Under" 1990) to Don Johnson ("Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man" 1991) in features, the actor has also tackled the occassional occasional small screen role (e.g., "L.A. Takedown", NBC 1989).

Baldwin's first break came through TV, not films, with the short-lived CBS sitcom "Sydney" (1990), in which he played Cheezy, an over-sexed associate of star Valerie Bertinelli. A vast improvement from this two-dimensional role was his portrayal of wise guy Detective Beau Felton in NBC's gritty Baltimore-based cop show "Homicide: Life on the Street". Despite strong reviews, he left the show after two seasons (1993-95) and his character was killed off in a memorable two-part episode in 1997.

Since Baldwin left the "Homicide", his big-screen career has not overtaken those of his brothers. With other credits that have included the flop "Car 54, Where Are You?", "Lone Justice" and "Dead on Sight" (all 1994), Baldwin had good moments as an FBI agent in "Mulholland Falls" (1996) and gave perhaps his best performance as James Woods' tough fellow hunter of the undead in "John Carpenter's Vampires" (1998). The latter, unfortunately, was overshadowed by his much publicized arrest for drug possesion in NYC during filming of another project in which he was replaced. A recovering substance abuser, he once again underwent treatment and detailed the personal and professional costs of his fall off the wagon in a People magazine article in October 1998.
