| Because I've seen it. That's punishment enough. Forget the fact that the title itself makes no sense in the first place, considering what they did was TWO years prior...What has happened here is the filmmakers decided to not wait for Kevin Williamson to come back as the writer and rushed to get a movie made within the year, so they immediately lost any creativity in the script and direction that the film went in. Gone is any indication of a solid continuing story, replaced with many many shots of Jennifer Love Hewitt's chest getting really wet.
Julie goes on a trip to a beautiful island with her friends that they "won" from a radio station. Then, the fisherman comes back and kills everyone. That's about it. This movie's really, really bad. I guess you could watch to see a pre- 'ER' and '8 Mile' Mekhi Phiffer and Brandy in horrible debuts. Or to see some massive J-LoHew cleavage, but there's many a website devoted to that...Or maybe to see Jack Black as a white rastafarian (with dreadlocks!) to make you question his likeability...I'm not exactly sure why you would want to see this.
The first film was kinda dumb, but it had a certain charm that made it entertaining. This is a horrendous, rushed, studio-influenced picture that should have been direct to video. |
