Gal Gadot was born on April 30, 1985, in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel. She was raised in a Jewish family.
On September 28, 2008, Gal married her boyfriend, Israeli businessman
Yaron Versano. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Alma, in
November 2011.
Miss Israel 2004
Career:
Gal Gadot entered the Miss Israel beauty contest when she was 19 years
old. She ended up taking home the title of Miss Israel 2004 and went on
to compete at the 2004 Miss Universe pageant. She failed to achieve the
top 15 and returned to Israel to work as a model.
In 2007, Gadot joined other Israeli models for the Maxim photo shoot
“Women of the Israeli army,” which focused on the models
who served in the Israel Defense Forces. After her photograph was
included in the invitation to the launch party, she appeared on the
cover of the New York Post. It was not long before she emerged as one
of the leading models in her native country. Beginning in 2008, the 175
cm tall beauty became a model for Castro, one of the largest Israeli
clothing brands.
Gadot made her acting debut in 2007 in an Israeli TV series called
“Bubot,” where she played a character named Miriam 'Merry'
Elkayam. Two years later, Gadot's acting career got much boost when she
landed the role of Gisele in the Hollywood movie “Fast &
Furious” (2009), opposite Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Directed by
Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan, the fourth installment in
“The Fast and the Furious” film series was a commercial
success despite receiving mixed to negative reviews from critics. The
same year, she made a guest appearance in the HBO hit comedy/drama
series “Entourage” and played Olivia in three episodes of
The CW's “The Beautiful Life: TBL,” which starred Mischa
Barton and Sara Paxton.
In 2010, Gadot landed a small role in “Knight and Day,” an
action/adventure film starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. There, she
portrayed Naomi, a henchwoman to the enemy of Tom Cruise. Additionally,
she played Natasha, Holbrooke (played by Mark Wahlberg)'s Israeli
girlfriend, in the action/comedy film “Date Night” (2010),
which starred Steve Carell and Tina Fey and was helmed by Shawn Levy,
before reprising her role as Gisele Harabo in the 2011 sequel
“Fast Five.” The latter film enjoyed financial success and
was praised by critics.
In 2011, Gadot returned to the Israeli television when she joined the
cast of the drama series “Asfur” during its second season.
She played Kika, an Israeli coffee shop owner in Amsterdam, who hooks
Yitzhak “Itzik” Bensuli (played by Oz Zehavi) up with a
string of illegal drug smuggling jobs.
Recently, Gadot again portrayed Gisele in “Fast & Furious
6,” which was released internationally on May 24, 2013 following
a UK premiere on May 17, 2013.
