Wow, Rocket man is a really amazing, yet underrated film. Harland Williams is at his peak in this one. I've seen in a hundred times, yet I still laugh. It's very slapstick, but you can't help but smile. Rocketman is a movie for everyone, it's got comedy, suspense, action and romance! Definatley one of my favorite movies, and I recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh.

This is a tour de force performance from a film comedian that is the funniest person this side of Jim Carrey. Harland Williams, who you may have seen in bit parts as the Serial Killer Hitchhiker in "There's Something About Mary" and the State Trooper who takes a swig from Jim Carrey's beer bottle in "Dumb and Dumber", plays Fred Randall, an eccentric computer programmer thrust into the role of a mission specialist on a manned Mars flight. What ensues is a laugh riot from pre-flight astronaut training to the return flight home. The isolation room sequence and the official announcement of Randall to the Mars mission will have you in tears. William Sadler, Jessica Lundy, and Beau Bridges costar in a film that is short on dazzling special effects, but very long on side-splitting hilarity. For some odd reason, Disney has refused to release this film on DVD in the U.S.

Working at a movie store where I recommend many movies, I always recommend this movie for the best comedy ever! This movie is so good, they really need to get this out on DVD! It has been my favorite, as well as a family favorite for years now! We just can't get enough of Fred Z. Randall! I recommend this movie for all! Again, WE NEED THIS ON DVD!

| This movie is good for some laughs. The guy who stars in it is off the wall, but he's believable and funny. All slapstick ... it's all slapstick-type humor ... but there are some pretty good ones. This guy is the whole show ... no one else in the movie is funny ... and he nearly pulls off an upset (making this movie a hit). He's loony, with the energy of a kid who's had way too much sugar, but it works.
The special effects (they travel to Mars) aren't too bad, and there's some real suspense near the end. Just a fun movie for everyone.

My family loves, loves, loves this movie. We don't get TV, so we watch VHS and DVD movies every night, and we've probably seen this one more than any in our collection. My father has a PHD in aerospace engineering and works for Lockheed Martin, and this is his favorite "sci-fi". It's outrageous and unbelievable, and it works too.
