Argentinean model Ines Rivero is widely recognized as one of the selected group of Victoria's Secret models known as the “angels.” Debuting in modeling at age 14 and winning the Elite Look of the Year contest in Argentine at 17, Ines has graced the cover of such magazines as Marie Claire France, Elle Argentina, and Mirabella US. She also has strutted down the runways for top designers like Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, done high-profile advertisements for Giorgio Armani and Mossimo, and has modeled extensively for Cover Girl cosmetics.
The 5' 11'' tall Argentinean beauty with glowing Latin looks is currently the wife of Miami-based Cuban financier Jorge Mora, with whom she has one child. Ines’ previous husband is French artist Alixandre de Basseville.
Childhood and Family:
In Cordoba, Argentina, Maria Ines Rivero was born on June 7, 1975. In 1995, she married French artist Alixandre de Basseville, but they divorced in 1998. She is currently wife of Miami-based Cuban financier Jorge Mora. Ines and Jorge welcomed their first child in 2001.
Ines is fluent in Spanish, French and English. Besides intense exercising, she takes boxing classes, practices yoga, and enjoys riding motorcycles.
Considered lacking the grace of a lady by her mother, Ines Rivero was sent to "ladies school." At age 14, she made her modeling debut in a local fashion show. Two years later, the more mature and more ladylike stunner was spotted by an agent, and subsequently landed her first big break in the next year, when she won the preliminary of the Elite Look of the Year contest in her home country of Argentina.
Following her victory, Ines has managed to branch out her career abroad, starting with working for a Giorgio Armani campaign. A Ford model in New York and Paris, she has appeared in such advertisements as H-I-S Jeans, Mossimo, Romeo Gigli, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sky, and Vitamina.
Gracing the cover of magazines like Marie Claire France, Elle Argentina, and Mirabella US, as well as the pages of fashion bibles such as Vogue and Glamour, Ines consequently becomes an international face. The print model veteran has also walked down the runways for a string of high-profile designers including Herve Leger, Michel Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior and John Galliano.
The Argentinean beauty was subsequently recruited by the renowned Victoria's Secret, joining Laetitia Casta, Gisele Bundchen and Carmen Kass, and became one of the lingerie company’s “Angels.” Afterward, Ines inked a deal with Cover Girl cosmetics, where she enjoyed the spotlight with Angela Lindvall and Jessica White.
Besides modeling, Ines, who has appeared in an Enrique Iglesias video "Esperanza," also showed off her vocal talent. She has recorded an album called Hasta Siempre and released a hit single about Argentine-born revolutionary Che Guevara.
Ines also appeared in two films: Robert Iscove's teen romance Boys and Girls (2000; starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Claire Forlani), an essential remake of Rob Reiner's 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally (starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan), and David Frankel's Academy Award-nominated comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada (2006; starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway), a loose screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name. Additionally, she once revealed that she wanted to open a hotel after retiring, and become a businesswoman.
