One of Brazil’s top exports Izabel Goulart is well-known as one of Victoria's Secret Angels and for her appearances in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows from 2005 to 2008. She is currently a spokesmodel for Armani Exchange.Goulart has strutted down the catwalks for such top designers as Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Valentino, and Michael Kors. Her face has decorated the covers of major publications like Vogue, Numero and Marie Claire. She has appeared in HBO's “Entourage” and CBS' “Two and a Half Men.”

Goulart was engaged to businessman Marcelo Costa on August 2006. However, she revealed that she was single on the February 7, 2008 episode of “Late Night with Conan O'Brien.” Four months later, in June 2008, the brown-blond-haired and brown-eyed beauty was discovered partying at a club in Russia with Russian soccer player Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. They have since reportedly become a couple.

One of People Magazine's “100 Most Beautiful People in the World” (May 2007), Goulart has helped hospitals in Brazil to raise money to supply free insulin for diabetic children in need. She also has expressed her intention to help find a cure for the disease. The humanist Goulart added, “I believe that one of the saddest things in the world today is that some people don't have enough food to nourish themselves. It's the 21st century and that's really not acceptable, so if I could do something that would change that I would be really happy.”

Childhood and Family:

Maria Izabel Goulart Dourado, who would later be popular as Izabel Goulart, was born on October 23, 1984, in São Carlos, Brazil. She was raised in a big family by a house painter father and a homemaker mother. She has five brothers and one sister.

When she was 14 years old, Izabel was approached by a hairstylist and was suggested to pursue a modeling career. At the time, she was shopping for groceries with her mother. She then moved to the capital city of Sao Paulo and began modeling.

Due to her skinny figure, Izabel was often teased by her school pears with names like giraffe. Therefore, she considered that school was a particularly rocky time for her.

Izabel is Catholic. She is also dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Izabel enjoys tennis and bowling.

Armani Exchange

Career:

Spotted while buying groceries at age 14, Izabel Goulart promptly made her way to São Paulo to pursue a modeling career. At her very first show, the unlucky girl had the most embarrassing moment in her life with a wardrobe malfunction. The incident was heavily reported in Brazilian publications. Recalling, she stated, “For some reason everyone was wearing clothes and they put a bikini on me. They tied up the bikini and put the top part behind my back and I was like ‘Guys that’s not going to work out. I’m not feeling comfortable with that. It’s going to fall.’ They’re like, ‘No you’re fine with this. Go girl, go!’ And then I started walking down. I was really nervous, it was my first time and I felt my bikini top falling down. I felt as I was walking something was coming down slowly and I was like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, help me,' and when I completely got in front of the photographers it fell. I was just frozen and I saw everyone around me standing up clapping and laughing.”

Despite a rough start, Goulart has made prominent comeback to the catwalk by working for A-listers like Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Bill Blass, Michael Kors, Valentino, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Jill Sander, and Stella McCartney, to name a few. Led by her success as a runaway model, she moved to New York City in 2005 and before she knew it, she was on her way to achieve supermodel status.

Once in NYC, Goulart signed a multi-year contract with Victoria’s Secret, and was put on the catwalk for a Victoria's Secret show in 2005. Other models who also appeared on the show were Adriana Lima, Gisèle Bündchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, Marisa Miller, and Petra Nemcova. She continued to become a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2006, and made her next appearance in the Victoria's Secret fashion show that same year. Although she is no longer an angel, Goulart has kept her affiliation with the company. She took parts in The Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows in 2007 and 2008.

Goulart has posed for a number of famous photographers, including Vincent Peters, Terry Richardson, Greg Kadel, and David Sims,and her face can be seen on the covers of many magazines such as Vogue (France and Japan), Marie Claire (France), GQ (Spain), Fashion Trend (Australia). Goulart has also done advertising campaigns for notable clients like Diesel, Cori, Forum, Osklen, Pollini, G Series, Triton, G Series,Valfrance, Yohji Yamamoto, and Zoomp.

Currently, Goulart is famous as the new face of Armani Exchange.

In addition to her televised Victoria's Secret shows, Goulart appeared in an episode of “Two and a Half Men” called “Corey's Been Dead for an Hour,” aired on November 20, 2006. She then acted in the April 8, 2007 episode of the HBO comedy series “Entourage.” During 2006-2007, she was invited to quest star in two episodes of “Late Night with Conan O'Brien.”
