Some say serene, some say strong. Some say demure, some say driven. These all are descriptions of a man in his early twenties that lives his life inspired by his dreams. His name is Jai Rodriguez and you know him from either his Broadway success or his television success most recently as the Culture extraordinaire on Bravo/NBC?s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. (Soon you will know him for his music) Here is his story.

It all began on June 22, 1979 when Jai Rodriguez was born on Long Island, New York. His artistry began on Long Island doing community theater and church performances which led him to audition to attend the Boces Cultural Arts Center where he studied Musical Theater. Jai recalls his experience by saying, ?It is here that I really grew as a performer studying under various theater legends.?

At seventeen years old while attending Boces Cultural Arts Center Jai?s talent was noticed and he was asked to play the leading role of ?Angel? on the world-renowned Broadway musical RENT. This role took him to Canada and later to the boards of Broadway in New York City. That was the open door for him to continue pursuing his dream of musical theater. After his time with RENT, he went on to perform in several leading roles including ?Zanna? in the hit show Zanna Don?t, and ?Patrick Chibas? in the critically acclaimed Lincoln Center play Spinning Into Butter with Hope Davis.

While enjoying his theater success Rodriguez began to be called into various television and film venues including a part in The New Guy for Revolution Studios and All My Children on ABC.

Amidst his Broadway and TV success, Jai?s ambition led him to create his own cabaret titled Monday Night Twisted Cabaret at XL which ran in New York City for a year. The cabaret show was a success and there was a demand to hear more of Jai?s musical prowess. This led him into the studio to cut his first single titled ?Love Is Good,? which went on to sell thousands of copies in support of the show. But his urge to record his own album at that time would have to wait as he was noticed in the cabaret show by producers from Bravo/NBC who were preparing to start a new show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

While his single began to sell rapidly and gain momentum on www.arriveateleven.com, receiving orders from as far away as Japan and Australia, Jai was busy taping shows for Queer Eye where he brings his Culture advice to the screen. The Bravo/NBC show is now an International phenomenon and due to his never-ending determination, he now also turns back to his other love, music. Rodriguez has returned to the studio to finish recording his debut album that will be released later this year. This upcoming album, will find Jai working with the top producers in the business as well as finding him re-teaming with the award winning production team of jACK (the sound behind ?Love is Good"). It will be a musical picture of Jai himself mixing pop/rock, R&B, and dance with some high energy fusion in the mix.

Ultimately, Jai Rodriguez is the perfect representation of an artist whose maturity, drive and talent has brought him to the forefront of the current musical and acting world and poised him for the success and status he has worked hard to deserve. The signs of that success are everywhere.
