Brown-eyed Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. Since her father, Mark Alba, was in the United States Air Force the family moved several times, living in states Mississippi, California and Texas. Cathy, Jessica's mother, is a mix of French and Danish background while Jessica's father is Spanish and Mexican American. Jessica's brother, Joshua, arrived just one year after Jessica on July 8, 1982.

Talented and already realizing that acting was a passion, young Jessica was signed by an agent at age 13 and acted in several small parts before making her film debut as Gail in the family comedy Camp Nowhere (1994).

Career:

Besides making numerous TV guest appearances in shows such as The Secret World of Alex Mack, Chicago Hope, Brooklyn South, Beverly Hills, and 90210, Jessica Alba's career got an early start in the movies. Jessica won roles in Camp Nowhere (1994), Venus Rising (1995), P.U.N.K.S. (1999), Never Been Kissed (1999), Idle Hands (1999), Paranoid (2000), The Sleeping Dictionary (2003) and Honey (2003). In the television series, Flipper, Jessica played the role of Maya Graham (1995-1996) and was also seen in TV's Too Soon for Jeff (1996).

In 2000 Jessica would hit the jackpot starring as Max Guevara in television's Sci-Fi action drama, Dark Angel, winning awards such as the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television (2001) and ALMA Awards Breakthrough Actress of the Year (2001) and Outstanding Actress in a Television Series (2002).
