It is a pleasure to watch The Beatle's film "Help." It's easy listening, lighthearted and a nice "snapshot" in time when they were all enjoying being at the top of their game! All the songs featured were big hits and are well woven into the framework of the movie. Nevertheless, to have another opportunity to experience the dry subtle humor of John Lennon is worth the purchase on it's own! But to know that this was one of the first exposures of Indian music for George Harrison, and to witness this milestone that influenced the rest of his musical and spiritual life, is an extremely rare treat indeed. Ringo Starr continues to entertain with his own brand of whimsical laconicism that remains unequaled and Paul McCartney is very warmly enjoyable in his portrayal of a love-struck member of the band with the lovely leading High Priestess. A must see for new and renewed fans alike!

| This movie gets a bad rep, since most movie aficionados and Beatles fans gush about A Hard Day's Night so much. I don't know about you, but AHDN is so sad because in spite of the fun and mayham, the beatles are trapped "in a car, and a room, and a room, and room..." It's no wonder John's lyrics for "Help!" are so depressing.
The movie with the same namesake, however, betrays these feelings of desolation. It is pure nonsense and escapism; the Bahamas, the Alps, (and in color!) need I say more? It is a weird movie, but still coherent (unlike Magical Mystery Tour). Oddly enough, underneath the oddball comedy, there lies a satiric criticism of religion. Ringo states: "Death, sacrifice, I don't subscribe to your religion."
In these days of religious extremism and fundamentalism, I see "Help!" as just the right dose of medicine to *help* us not take ourselves (and our beliefs) so seriously!!

I completely loved this film! I laughed so much! The plot was really weird, but that was something that made it even more fun! And those who doesn't see that have watched a film in their wrong genre, end of. If you like the Beatles music and the charming Beatles boys, this is something you're gonna like! Perfect on a rainy day when you have nothing to do. Unfortunately I haven't seen "A hard day's night", but after've seen "Help!" I definitely want to see that one too.

Parts of this movie were ridiculous and nonsensical, but it was a surprisingly pleasant spoof of James Bond and the mystical East. The Beatles performed songs from their album, Help!, at just the right moments, and these alone are worth watching the movie (it was from watching this that I learned that George, not John, sang the lead vocal on "I Need You"). Still, I should say that if you're not a Beatles fan, you probably won't enjoy this.

Okay, first off my favorites in this hilarious movie have to be George, and the famous Ringo. I love John and Paul though (the pub scene, look closely at John and Paul, its hilarious!) George, is a little snitch, he can be seen stealing in the jeweler scene, and so can Paul. George also cheats in the card game with Ringo, and he's a sissy. Thats what makes him hilarious. ("I'm off!" "typical") I strongly recommend this movie to fans of the beatles and non fans. It will make you laugh you're head off.
