SummaryDefinately Better Than The First. At Last Sequel Is Better!
Content
First of all before my review, I have to say that this movie doesn't deserve a one star at all. I would not watch science fiction horror movies like this and expect something similar to that from the Discovery channel, Animal Planet or the Learning Channel. When does a movie like this become an educational film? Don't expect movies nowadays to fit actual life situations and standing facts. I also take these kinds of film as a thriller type and not one that'll try to scare you unless of course you are an ophidiophobic person(fear of snakes).

Knowledge about these animals: Many reptiles are known to grow continuously throughout their life so indeed if it is possible to increase their lifespan they will grow long. Anacondas do grow big about 29 ft and is considered the heaviest snakes in the world, but not nearly as big as the one shown in this movie and they are only fast on very short bursts. Attacks on humans are rare, they wait near the water for smaller animals to come and drink like large rodents, deers, some crossing farm animals like sheep, etc. The head of an nacondas by the way, do not look like some of the snakes in there, they have a rectangular sort of head. Look at a poisonous snake and one that isn't like a python and you'll see what I mean.

Okay, away from that, the movie(in short) talks about a bunch of scientists/explorers whichever way you take it, finding out about a unique and rare flower called the Blood Orchid found in Borneo. By the way Borneo is the third largest island in the world and there's an Indonesian and Malaysian Borneo. Borneo has many intricate and deep rivers and jungles. So they go there during the rainy season, hire a small crew of two people with a large motor boat, the lead guide being Johnny Messner as Bill Johnson. Eventually, the plot leads them deep into the jungle to find this flower before it dies out and wont appear for years. In the efforts of find this flower, which in a way is like the "fountain of youth", they not only meet overgrown anacondas that took them as snacks, tread fast flowing, boat shattering currents of the river, and deal with each other's company, they also come upon the truth of why the anacondas were so big, but also also dealing with a crazed British member that planned to do whatever it takes to get the flowers. The main objective as usual was getting out alive.

I found this movie quite entertaining and a lot better than the first. The action is great and even though typical of these films, I found it fun and enjoyable and have found heart to watch it twice. Its a fun and fascinating film sometimes, especially the chases. Just don't take this film too seriously and go all critical and analytic, it'll mess up the film and your experience with it. Nothing on here was unbelievably fantastic or superb, but I find it good enough for my liking. Hope everyone will enjoy this film as I do...good day.

SummaryACTION PACKED!!!
Content
In this sequel to the original starring Jennifer Lopez, a team of money-hungry scientists heads to the jungles of Borneo during the dangerous rainy season, on a quest to find an elusive orchid that only blooms once in seven years, and for a very short time. They are convinced that this orchid contains a chemical component that could hold the key to the "fountain of youth." It doesn't take long, however, for the team's locally infamous jungle guide (Johnny Messner) to discover that they are being "hunted" by anacondas, huge even by their standards...and to make matters worse, it appears to be mating season. The hunky Morris Chestnut delivers a convincing role as a pharmaceutical exec...as does Sally Richardson-Whitfield. Stranded in the jungle after their boat capsizes, the focus for most switches from finding the orchid to getting out of the jungle...to basic survival, as one by one the cast of characters are getting eaten by the huge snakes. The scene with the leeches will have viewers scratching their way through the rest of the movie....this one is a "must see."

SummaryGood Movie ..but hurt by 1985 looking CGI animation.
Content
The orginal Anaconda wasn't bad, but when i saw this movie sitting on the blockbuster shelves i just couldn't see myself renting because i figured it would be just a waste of time.
So Come yesterday they were showing Anacondas on HBO so i said what the heck and i watched it.

The premise of this movie is a bunch of scientists pack up and go to a country named borneo in the jungle and are in search of a flower called The Wild Orchid and suppposely this flower will be able to heal people of some diseases that are incurable.
But little do the scientists and wild man tour guide know is that it's mating season for these large anacondas and all the males are coming into borneo looking for a female.

Negatives-the CGI graphics for the Snakes is on the ugly looking side. It's 2005 and most movies cannot pull a decent looking CGI animated animal with the millions of dollars they get for production and it's a damn shame.
It does not mess up the movie completely but does damage. When the camera focuses on the snakes face and body you see the animated flaws on the snake.

Positives-I was surprised at how the cast reacted to the snakes and by that i mean that these actors actually looked scared and pulled it off and made it look believable.
Also Good Action scenes and good chases for when they are being chased by the snakes.

Conclusion-An overall above average action/horror type film which could have been better But when you have CGI animated snakes that don't look or move real it deeply dampens the movie.

3 stars out of 5

SummarySqueezed Just A Little Bit Too Much
Content
First and foremost, let us all understand that "Anacondas: The Hunt For The Blood Orchid," is nothing more than a creature feature hoping to bank in on the popularity of its predecessor. There was never any intent to outdo the original. In fact, this second helping of mega-snakes is only tied to the original when the tech-head mentions that his camera-toting friend was once on a documentary shoot in the Amazon and everybody got eaten by a giant snake.

The plot is standard for flicks of this nature. Man has once again tried to cheat death by using a miracle drug. That drug's source, obviously, is in the middle of the jungles of Borneo, which just happen to be infested by mutated anacondas during the peak of their mating season. Well, that provides the beast, so where's the beauty? That's provided by a nice-lookin' bunch of scientists and corporate cutthroats headed up by actors such as Morris Chestnut and KaDee Strickland. Chestnut you might know, but the rest of the cast is just a bunch of warm-blooded bodies for the friendly neighborhood snakes to munch on.

Murphy's law rules the day. From losing their boat over a waterfall to getting bitten by paralyzing spiders, this gang sees only the loveliest bits of Borneo. It's all tied up nicely with a modest ending that leaves you satisfied and, perhaps thankfully, with little chance for another sequel.

Sooooo, if you enjoyed the first flick, I'm sure this one will suffice, though it is a step down. It lacks Jon Voight as a sleazy snakehandler and Eric Stoltz' blistering performance as the dude who sleeps throughout most of the picture, but this movie provides enough excitement to keep you interested.

Moderately recommended to horror/action and creature fans, but if snakes ain't your bag, stay away.

SummaryCould've been better
Content
This is a great movie, its better than the first, its thrilling, and it will keep you guessing what will happen next. But, the ending should've been different, and the movie was not that scary. But overall, this movie is worth watching.
