Kate Clarke made her feature film debut in the 1999 comedy “Los
Enchiladas!,” where she appeared as a prostitute. The film was
written and directed by Mitch Hedberg and starring Gregory Arata, Dave
Attell and Todd Barry. The same year, she co-starred in the short film
“20/20 Vision” with Jesse Ventura and Matt Timms.
In 2001, Clarke was cast in the leading role of Beth in the Brent Roske
drama/adventure film “Playground Girls,” which was screened
at MOCA, with the Basquiat Exhibit. The role brought her the Best
Actress Award at the 2001 Showdance Film Festival, where the film also
won the Best Picture and Best Soundtrack Awards. The same year, Clarke
appeared in the films “Wrong Way to Sundance,” by Dan

Clarke went on to land roles on such films as “Wheatfield with
Crows” (2002), “Lola's One Night Stand” (2002,
short), “Auto Focus” (2002, starred Greg Kinnear),
“The Perfect Wife” (2003), Bryan Michael Stoller's
adventure/comedy “Miss Castaway and the Island Girls”
(2004), in which she was cast as Miss Iowa, “Grayson”
(2004, short) and “Hired Help” (2004, short). In 2004, she
served as host on the television series “Athens on
Location,” which was shot in Greece for NBC's Olympic Series
during the 2005 Olympics.
In 2005, Clarke co-starred with Kyle O. Ingleman and Shyla Marlin in
“Grace,” a drama film directed by Antonia Scarpa, and
appeared in two short films: “Suicide!” and “Main
Street.” She also made a guest appearance as a paramedic in an
episode of “Charmed” called “Little Box of
Horrors” (2005).
Next up for Clarke, she had the title role on the TV series
“Sophie Chase” (2006), which received a Daytime Emmy
nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Video Content for
Non-Traditional Delivery Platforms, had an uncredited part as Doctor
Anderson on “Poseidon” (2006), a disaster film
directed by Wolfgang Petersen, and was featured as Mrs. Lee Gardner in
the Gregory Hoblit directed crime/drama film “Fracture”
(2007), which starred Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling and David
Strathairn. Around this time, she also made guest appearances in
television shows like “Threshold,” “Justice,”
“Entourage” and “Notes from the Underbelly.”
Clarke appeared as John Corbett's girlfriend in the action/crime movie
“Street Kings” (2008), which starred Keanu Reeves, Forest
Whitaker and Hugh Laurie, had an uncredited part as ER nurse in the
fantasy movie “Hancock” (2008), which starred Will Smith,
Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, and was featured as Tommy's mom in
“Crazy on the Outside” (2010), a comedy film directed by
and starring Tim Allen, along with Sigourney Weaver and Jeanne
Tripplehorn. She also appeared in the comedy film “Father vs.
Son” (2010), which won a Special Jury Award for Best World
Premiere - Houston Critic's Society at the WorldFest Houston.
Clarke's new film “Knight of Cups,” where she was featured
as neighbor with children, is set to be released in theaters in 2013.
The film, directed and written by Terrence Malick and starring
Christian Bale, Teresa Palmer, and Natalie Portman, won the
Breakthrough Performer at the 2012 Hamptons International Film Festival
and the COLA for Location Team of the Year - Independent Feature at the
2012 California on Location Awards.
