SummaryKevin Costner in "Revenge"
Content
This is probably the best movie Costner ever made, with "Robin Hood" a close second. Costner is superb, coming across as a kind and good man as well as extremely sexy. "Revenge" is also beautifully filmed and gives us a romance to sigh over!!!! You will remember this movie!!

SummaryWhat's Not to Love?
Content
I was recently in a staff meeting where we had to share our all-time favorite movie. I am a movie-aholic and this is among my top five. Why? Not because most people drool over Kevin Costner (he doesn't do much for me, actually). It's because it is the only movie I've seen 30 or more times that can STILL make me cry as hard as I did the first time I saw it. Anthony Quinn is a film god and always will be, 'nuff said. As for Madeline Stowe, I just wish she would make more movies for she is truly an underrated (and undercast) gem. I don't buy into what critics and some other reviewers here apparently dislike. It is what it is ... violence and spousal abuse notwithstanding ... that's just part of the movie and I suppose, part of that culture. But as for a TRUE love story with a final scene that will make you boo hoo out loud, this one cannot be beat! Grab the Kleenex ...

SummaryOne of the best movies of all time!
Content
To me this is one of the greatest movies ever. Its on my top 10 list. It is a film that you cant watch one time and decide. It is a film that grows on you. I think its one of the greatest love stories ever. Kevin Costner's performance was very underrated and I think this is one of his better movies. Anthony Quinn's "I want you to see what happens to whores" line is classic. This is a must own for anyone who is tired of the same old romantic movies.

SummaryGOOD CHEMISTRY & CINEMATOGRAPHY WASTED ON INSIPID 'PLOT'
Content
Was this a western? Number of Mexican hats per capita would suggest so. Was it a romantic film with flaring passions gone awry? The sizzling chemistry between Stowe and Costner had me foxed. Was this a mafia theme with vengeful retributions? Quinn is convincing as a jilted, betrayed, and thus ferocious husband, so I half-expected a thrilling picture. Even Tony Scott's cinematography is servicable. Sadly, my refrigerator has expired eggs that stink lesser than the script for this utterly insipid dreck.

SummaryNot for politically correct wimps
Content
The reason (and I dare anyone to dispute me on this) that this movie did not receive more fanfare is because politically correct WIMPS refused to give it the attention it deserves. Due to the brutal way in which Quinn's character treats his wife upon learning of her infidelity, the politically correct critics and moviegoers alike simply did not want to be perceived, in their idiotic minds, as being pro-violence towards women. "If we say this is a good movie, then we would be saying that violence towards women must be good too, right?"

Lunacy.

But this IS a good movie and a good DVD: Great sound, excellent quality picture, well acted, interesting characters and great locations.
