Career:
Lauren Bittner kicked off her career in 2004 with a role as Amber in an
episode of “Third Watch” called “Purgatory.” In
the following year, she made her feature film debut as baseball cutie
in the drama “The Thing About My Folks,” which was
directed by Raymond De Felitta and scripted by Paul Reiser. The film
starred Peter Falk, Paul Reiser and Olympia Dukakis.
Bittner shot a pilot with Taran Killam, Paul Campbell, Paul Adelstein
and Bob Clendenin called “Nobody's Watching,” which was
developed for the WB Television Network. However, after test audiences
seemed to be confused by its premise, the network executives passed on
the show for the 2005 schedule. The pilot was leaked onto You Tube in
June 2006. The same year, she played the role of Katie on the
television series “Lovebites” and appeared in Jeff Lipsky's
romance film, “Flannel Pajamas,” with Justin Kirk, Julianne
Nicholson, Rebecca Schull and Jamie Harrold. She also portrayed the
role of Amanda Breen in an episode of “Law & Order: Criminal
Intent” called “Wasichu.”
In 2007, Bittner appeared in two episodes of the crime/drama series
“The Black Donnellys,” including the pilot, and starred as
Alex in a TV series pilot, “Spellbound,” opposite Annie
Potts and Justin Hartley. Besides, she played the supporting role of
Laura in “Gardener of Eden,” a comedy/drama film directed
by Kevin Connolly and starring Lukas Haas, Erika Christensen and
Giovanni Ribisi.
Bittner was cast as Amie, one of Emma and Liv's closest friends, on
“Bride Wars,” a 2009 romantic comedy film directed by Gary
Winick and written by Greg DePaul, June Diane Raphael and Casey Wilson.
Starring Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Candice Bergen, Bryan Greenberg,
Chris Pratt, Steve Howey and Kristen Johnston, the film was a
commercial success despite its largely negative reviews. She went on to
play Susan in the comedy movie “Once More with Feeling”
(2009), starring Chazz Palminteri, Drea de Matteo and Linda Fiorentino,
and Mary Margaret O'Malley in the Tim Chambers film “The Mighty
Macs” (2009), starring Carla Gugino.
Following a leading role on the short film “Worn” (2010),
by Marc Carlini, Bittner landed the role of Rena in “Subject: I
Love You” (2011), a drama romance film based on the “I Love
You” computer virus of 2000, starring Briana Evigan and Jericho
Rosales, before playing the leading roel of Julie in “Paranormal
Activity 3” (2011), the third film in the “Paranormal
Activity” series and serves as a prequel. The film grossed
$104,028,807 in the United States and Canada, and $101,675,011 in other
countries, for a worldwide total of $205,703,818. It became the highest
grossing film in the series.
In 2012, Bittner made a guest appearance in “Blue Bloods,”
playing Alyssa Mulrow in the episode “Risk and Reward.” She
is set to portray Jessie in the upcoming Lifetime drama series
“The Secret Lives of Wives,” opposite Kim Raver, Valerie
Cruz and Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
