SummaryVery entertaining and very educational!
Content
As a junior high science teacher, I made sure I showed this film to my students every year - they truly enjoyed it (Robin Williams is great as a misplaced bat) and they learned a lot about the destruction of the world's rain forests. I HIGHLY recommend it - adults will enjoy it, too! There is some violence that may upset very young children (preview it if you think you should.)

I loved this movie the first time I saw it as a kid. So much so that I wore out my vhs copy and had to get it on dvd! A MUST for any kid's (or kid at heart's) video library. A fun movie with great, clean comedy and a beautiful message.

I loved this movie. When I was a kid I just liked the pretty things in it. Now I can understand the messages. The animation is beautiful, the plot uncharacteristically solid for a children's movie, and the message is subtle but clear. I especially love all the references to Australian-Aboriginal art at the beginning of the movie. I would recommend this to old and young alike.

SummaryBeautifully animated video
Content
FernGully is a movie that is directed towards kids, but people of all ages can appreciate the message it delivers. A fun animated movie depicting the harsh reality of what is happening to rain forests in our world. It's great for kids to view this movie, realizing it's based on the real-life destruction of Rainforests this may insight some to take action in their later years. Many rare creatures inhabit Rainforests and the fairy tale creatures of this movie accentuate this acctuality. We may never see such unusual creatures or ever understand them, and that is an underlying message of this movie. Although the subject may seem serious, there are hilarious moments in the movie that give feeling and pertinence to the intricacy of the creatures and how they live maintaing a homeostasis with there habit FernGully. Truly a beautiful and inspiring movie.
