SummaryCrime is the Disease. Meet the Cure!
Content
I seriously can't believe this movie is getting so many bad reviews. I do agree with all of you, the dvd and quality was lame... and the killers in the movie could've been told about a little bit more better. You do know though that 1986 had a lot of movies that were just like Cobra. Big Trouble in Little China(Kurt Russell), The Golden Child(Eddie Murphy), Raw Deal(Arnold Schwarzeneggar),and even Armed and Dangerous(John Candy)... I think every one of these are very similar.
Sylvester Stallone... obviously not in his best movie, after doing Rocky and First Blood. I do think though as a cold blooded detective, working the zombie squad, protecting this one girl who was the only living witness to see the "Night Thrasher" killers face. Stallone fit the character perfectly.
Brigette Nielsen... now I do think some other actress could've played this part a bit better, portraying the witness. Nielsen did a decent enough job though, doing just as good as she did in Beverly Hills Cop II(Eddie Murphy).
Brian Thompson... one actor I love to see play a villian in anything. As the Night Thrasher serial killer, he plays one lunatic that really doesn't need any motive to kill. Killing the weak so the strong shall survive... that's enough motive to go out and kill right?
Reni Santoni(28 Days, Private Parts) as Stallone's partner who always eats junkfood was funny. Andrew Robinson(Hellraiser) was a good pain in the butt to Stallone as the snot nose detective. I thought this was a good supporting cast.
The late George P. Cosmatos, deserves a little credit for this doesnt he? His next two movies were Leviathan(Peter Weller), and Tombstone(Kurt Russell)... which weren't that bad either. He did his best working with Stallone, in this action thriller.
I agree, the dvd is pretty weak but at least it gave a commentary of the director... half of the dvd's out there don't. Why did the killer, Jack The Ripper... cut out the female organs of one of his lady victums? Why would terrorists bomb anything? They want to put us into fear, when in reality they're a bunch of cowards altogether. Stallone as a hero has been proven... chasing after the few dozen of killers who breed in Los Angelos city.
For the regular movie fanatic this movie is 4 stars... but for me this was an easy 5!

SummaryIs there a plot to this movie? "Yeah, but it's just a little one."

As if ROCKY IV wasn't horrible enough!

If Sylvester Stallone was so desperate to play an action cop again, I would have preferred a sequel to NIGHTHAWKS, a great New York City cop movie!

SummaryDisappointing because it could have been so good
Content
Stallone plays a rogue cop on the trail of a serial killer, which could have presented us with a gripping adventure, but too much is left unclear. The villains seem to belong to some sort of neo-nazi or white supremacy group, but their motivations are never explored. Why are they killing people? What do they expect to gain? Why aren't they making demands of the cops? The whole movie is just an excuse for Stallone to rack up the body count. Terribly disappointing since Sly IS a good actor and can do so much better. Rent the Rambo or Rocky series instead

SummaryShould be no stars
Content
I saw this movie when I was 16 years old and even at that tender age knew the film was a disaster of a movie. Stallone's career really went down from this point onwards until the excellent Cop Land.

I must admit, however, I liked the car Cobretti drove (and subsequently trashed). Hard to believe this dross was based on a novel and Stallone actually bought to turn into a screenplay. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Summaryabout the movie cobra......

Another good action based movie/film. A good recommendation to those whom are interested in this genre of movie/film despite there are some on and off (maybe is sound and loud which I've forgotten) during the playing of this movie/film. Enjoy....
