Cowell's Ex Background: British television presenter and occasional actress Terri Seymour has been recognized widely thanks to her long-running relationship with “American Idol” and “The X Factor” judge Simon Cowell. First met when she was 18 years old, the couple did not begin dating until Seymour interviewed him for a show in 2002. In 2006, Cowell was reported by British newspaper “News of the World” to have had an affair with socialite and model Jasmine Lennard. Photos of Lennard leaving his residence were also included in the report. When the story leaked, Seymour was in the United States. Later, “Heat Magazine” published photos of the furious Seymour when she met Cowell at an airport. Both Cowell and Lennard strongly denied the rumors and stated the meeting was purely business. ”Terri phoned Simon and finished it in September, about six weeks ago.” They are going to remain close friends. Simon thinks the world of Terri and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.” Max Clifford (Cowell's representative) After being together for six years, in September 2008, Seymour broke off her relationship with Cowell. According to reports, the split was caused by Cowell's disposition to settle down and have children, but he did buy her a house as a break up “gift.” Initially finding success as a commercial model, Seymour has acted in the movies “In the Beginning” (2000, TV), “24 Hour Party People” (2002) and “Material Girls” (2006). She was a co-host on the British game series “Wheel of Fortune” from 2000 to 2001, and more recently, in 2008, served as correspondent on the US hit entertainment magazine show “Extra.”
Childhood and Family: Theresa Helene Seymour, later known simply as Terri Seymour, was born in 1974, in Hertfordshire, England. She was raised solely by her English mother and has never met her father.
Career: Getting her start as a commercial model, Terri Seymour appeared in commercials and catalogs, but it was not until 2000 that she came to the attention of the public. She served as co-host on the popular game show on ITV called “Wheel of Fortune,” and stayed with the show until 2001. In November 2000, Seymour made her television acting debut in the two-part NBC telepic “In the Beginning,” an adventure/drama starring Martin Landau, Jacqueline Bisset and Bill Campbell. Under the direction of Kevin Connor, she offered a memorable performance as Eve. Despite the promising debut, she did not appear in another project until she had a small role on 2002's “24 Hour Party People,” a British biography film helmed by Michael Winterbottom and scripted by Frank Cottrell Boyce. The film starred Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson, who establishes Factory Records and introduces the Manchester music to the world. In 2004, Seymour became a presenter on the British talent show “The Xtra Factor,” a spin-off from “The X Factor,” produced by Simon Cowell's Syco TV. Two years later, she could be seen presenting the 2006 BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards and making a special guest appearance on “The Tyra Banks Show,” in which she became a judge in a search for the next top male model. Besides, she made self-appearance in the Hilary/Haylie Duff comedy vehicle “Material Girls” (2006), directed by Martha Coolidge. Nearly a year after appearing in an episode of “E! True Hollywood Story” called “The Osbournes,” broadcast on May 17, 2007, Seymour became a correspondent on America's well-known entertainment news show, “Extra” (2008). Seymour is the “American Idol” correspondent for FOX 11 in Los Angeles.
